Barlow Street at George Street: proposed permanent road closure

We invite your feedback on a proposal to close Barlow Street at George Street to vehicle traffic. Barlow Street runs between George and Pitt streets in the city centre.

The new light rail along George Street will attract greater numbers of people walking. We propose new bollards to prevent vehicles exiting Barlow Street onto George Street.

This will make it safer for people walking and improve traffic flow on this section of the road.
