Creating more space for Bourke Street Community Garden

over 1 year ago

Thanks to everyone that showed in an interest and provided feedback on a proposal to expand the Bourke Street Community Garden in Woolloomooloo so more local residents can enjoy gardening.

The community garden has been operating for four years and has been very popular.

The proposal extends the existing area of 240 square metres to 417 square metres and also includes space for:
  • Raised garden beds for growing vegetables, miniature fruit trees and herbs;
  • Composting and soil bays; and
  • A sandstone bird bath.
Subject to a development application, the City may also install a tool shed and a chicken coop.
