Join us to tour the Green Square Community and Cultural Precinct
Please join us at the Green Square Community and Cultural Precinct for a rescheduled construction site tour and refreshments on Saturday 29 April from 2pm to 4pm.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our original tour in March because of wet weather.
The tour is an opportunity for you to see progress on our exciting new facilities at the former Royal South Sydney Hospital site.
You can book online for this event.
The new precinct includes the Joynton Avenue Creative Centre, Banga Community Shed, Matron Ruby Grant Park, Waranara Early Education Centre and public art. We expect the new facilities to open in mid-to-late 2017.
There will be a Welcome to Country and Lord Mayor Clover Moore will speak to the community at 2.30pm. Site tours will follow.
We are pleased to announce that artist Maria Fernanda Cardoso will be there to speak about her public artwork for the site, While I Live I Will Grow.
The Green Square Water team will be onsite to show us how we’re harnessing stormwater for non-potable uses in the Green Square town centre, including toilet flushing, irrigation, laundry and cooling towers.
Please wear closed toe shoes to ensure your safety. We encourage you to book your tickets here so we can let you know if wet weather forces us to cancel the tour.
The site entrance is on Joynton Avenue via the driveway closest to the corner of Joynton Avenue and Hansard Street. There will be signs and staff to help direct you to the site.
