New traffic signals at Elizabeth Street and Joynton Avenue, Zetland

The City of Sydney will soon install new traffic signals and pedestrian crossings at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Joynton Avenue in Zetland. The project is part of our program of new and upgraded streets in the Green Square town centre.

The new lights and crossings will improve traffic flow and increase safety for motorists, pedestrians and bike riders. Works include new traffic lights and three signalised pedestrian crossings with access ramps.

As part of this project, we will remove six street trees from Joynton Avenue near the intersection of Elizabeth Street. We will replace these trees when we finish this and other upcoming projects in the Joynton Avenue area.

Works are scheduled begin in coming weeks and we expect them to be completed in late July 2017.

During this time there will be some temporary restrictions to footpath access. Some of the works will take place at night to minimise disruption to local traffic and businesses. Our contractors will work to minimise noise at night and we will notify you about these works closer to the time.
