Thanks for coming along to East Village on Saturday 21 May 2016 and having your say on two new parks in Zetland and North Rosebery. It was great to get feedback on these future parks, as well as other things in Green Square that are important to you, including managing traffic in the area, understanding the plans for future light rail and NSW Government plans for schools, and ensuring future community facilities are affordable for the community to use. We're busy compiling a report with all the feedback received at the event for our future program.

Garraway Park will have space for sports, exercise and casual recreation and the new park at 904 Bourke Street will be a pocket park that will feature native trees and plants and a retained Moreton Bay fig tree. Both parks are still on exhibition so you still have time to let us know your thoughts.

Have Your Say Day also featured an update on our projects in Green Square such as Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre, new child care and the Green Square Library and Plaza.

We also showcased a video to show what Green Square will look like in the coming years.

Construction will take place from 7.30am–5.30pm on Monday to Friday and 7.30am–3.30pm on Saturdays. No work is permitted on Sundays and public holidays.

    About the design

The centre is part of an exciting new community space at Green Square. The design by Peter Stutchbury Architecture includes a new sheltered outdoor area inspired by the existing arched windows. The new Matron Ruby Grant Park will sit between the two buildings and will offer passive open areas and a community garden.
