Report-back - new park and green link at North Rosebery

Thanks to everyone who had their say on the plans for a new park and green link at North Rosebery. In November and December last year we asked for your feedback on a new park and green link as part of the private development of 25–55 Rothschild Avenue and 5–13 Rosebery Avenue, Rosebery.

It was great to speak with residents at the drop-in session at Sweetacres Park on 26 November. We also received submissions on our consultation hub,

People loved the fact that the existing fig trees would be retained to form the new green link. They also liked the north/south connections the green link will offer to pedestrians and cyclists.

In the park design, shaded play areas for children, the BBQ and picnic area, and an open lawn with native planting were popular elements of the design. People also loved the table tennis tables and multipurpose court.

Other key pieces of feedback we received included safety measures for the children’s playground, plenty of shade, and questions about whether the park would be dog friendly (including dog-friendly water fountains).

All of the feedback received will be considered by the City and will inform the next stage of design development.

We’ll keep you posted on the progress of this park, which may be constructed as part of a Voluntary Planning Agreement with private developments.
