Kings Cross community garden

We invite your feedback on a proposal for a community garden in Kings Cross for more local residents to enjoy gardening and growing edible herbs and vegetables.

The proposed garden will be 250sqm in size – 190sqm in stage 1 and 60sqm in stage 2. The garden will be at Lawrence Hargrave Reserve and includes a space for:

  • raised garden beds for growing vegetables, flowers and herbs
  • green waste recycling with composting and worm farms
  • a toolshed for storing tools, seeds and hoses
  • rainwater tank to harvest rainwater.

The edible garden will be surrounded by a low fence.

The Kings Cross Community Garden Group has developed a management plan and garden design, which will guide the group in maintaining the garden.
