The new pocket park in front of Abraham Mott Hall and Harry Jensen Centre, Millers Point is proposed to be named:
Argyle Street Playground
The proposed name is inspired by the unique history of the site. The new playground sits next to Argyle Street, named by Governor Macquarie in 1810, in memory of his native county in Scotland.
The site was a tram terminus when trams served the inner suburbs of Sydney from the 1890s to the 1960s. It also provided a turning circle for trams completing their journey. Locals and visitors will learn about the terminus and the network on park signs.
