Youth Week In The City

Youth Week for 2014 has concluded. We look forward to seeing you next year!

Youth Week in the City is about celebrating the dynamic contribution young people make to our city.

The theme for this year is "Our Voice Our Impact" and we want to hear about the changes you want to make to your community, your city and your world.

To help you get started, the City’s Pine Street Creative Arts Centre is partnering with Oxfam's 3things initiative and asking, what are 3things that you can do to help change the world

By answering this simple question you can start shaping your world.

The City is also supporting some great events for you to get in involved in around the city during Youth Week. There'll be a block party, skating and sports events along with plenty of opportunities for you to get creative.

We look forward to seeing you out and about during Youth Week in the City from 4-13, April.

    3things widget

3things was developed in 2008 by Oxfam Australia to demonstrate that young Australians care about the world around them and the people it sustains.

It can be difficult to know where to start tackling big global issues like poverty, climate change and challenges to basic human rights.

3things makes it easier to take the first steps towards making a positive contribution to your community by asking a simple question: what are 3things that you can do to help change the world?

Oxfam has already had thousands of people share their 3things, building a movement for global change.

Check out their website to find out what others are doing and to add your 3things to the mix.

Together we can make a difference.
