WestConnex: traffic solutions for Alexandria, Erskineville and St Peters

We have commissioned a new independent study to protect local streets from increased traffic from the St Peters Interchange, which will be part of WestConnex.

City staff have reviewed the results of the study and identified a suite of treatments including road closures. The City proposes an integrated traffic plan that applies a precinct-wide approach to ensure the problem is tackled collectively rather than street-by-street.

Now we need your feedback so we can develop a final plan together.

The final plan needs to be endorsed by the Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee and approved by Council. It then needs final approval from Roads and Maritime Services so it's important we work together to present a strong case.

How to give your feedback

We have scheduled a public meeting and community drop-in session at Alexandria Town Hall on:

  • Thursday 5 April 6pm–7.30pm (public meeting)
  • Saturday 7 April 3.30pm–5pm (drop-in session)
  • Thursday 24 May 5.30pm–7pm – extra session due to high level of community interest.

These sessions will give you an opportunity to discuss the results face-to-face with City staff.

The Alexandria Residents Action Group will also be holding a meeting on Wednesday 11 April at 7pm, at Alexandria Town Hall (73 Garden Street). The group will discuss the study and the options proposed. This will be another opportunity to view the plans and speak to City staff and your neighbors.

You can also view the study and provide your feedback by completing our survey.

To make sure everyone has their say, this consultation will be open until 5pm Friday 1 June 2018.

Please note, your feedback may be published in publicly available reports at the end of the consultation period. If you would like your feedback to remain confidential, please email sydneyyoursay@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.
