Wider footpaths and more trees in Chippendale

We invite your feedback on our design to improve the footpaths and add more trees on Wiley and Myrtle streets and Dangar Place, Chippendale.

We propose to:

  • widen the footpath at some intersections to make it safer for people walking
  • plant 11 trees in roadway areas, away from power lines and footpaths
  • construct a median strip on Myrtle Street.

Most trees will be planted away from parking areas. There will be a loss of 2 parking spaces to plant trees in Dangar Place.

This proposal is part of our commitment to provide a walkable city, increase tree canopy cover for shade and meet our Sustainable Sydney 2030 commitments.
